Principal Surgeon · Sydney
Dr Keagan Werner-Gibbings
MBBS · FRACS (Vascular)
Dr Keagan Werner-Gibbings is a Fellowship-trained Vascular Surgeon and the principal surgeon of Pelvic Congestion Australia, practising across multiple locations in Sydney. He has a dedicated clinical interest in Pelvic Congestion Syndrome — a condition recognised as chronically underdiagnosed and undertreated in the Australian healthcare system.
Dr Werner-Gibbings completed his vascular surgical training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and has undertaken additional subspecialty training in endovascular and interventional techniques. He undertook a fellowship in deep venous surgery at the internationally renowned Vascular Surgery Department at St Thomas' Hospital in London, where he trained under Professor Stephen Black - one of the key opinion leaders in the venous field. His practice focuses on minimally invasive, image-guided procedures that allow patients to return home the same day with minimal downtime.
He takes a thorough, patient-centred approach to every consultation — understanding that many women presenting with PCS have spent years seeking answers. Dr Werner-Gibbings provides clear explanations, honest assessments, and a treatment plan tailored to each individual's circumstances.

Why see a Vascular Surgeon for PCS?
Pelvic Congestion Syndrome is fundamentally a vascular condition — it is caused by abnormal veins, not hormonal or gynaecological pathology. A Vascular Surgeon with subspecialty endovascular training is uniquely positioned to diagnose and treat the underlying venous cause.
Dr Werner-Gibbings performs ovarian and pelvic vein embolisation using the same image-guided techniques used in vascular surgery more broadly. This means patients receive a procedure performed by a surgeon who understands the venous anatomy in detail and is trained to manage any complications that may arise.
Many patients with PCS have spent years seeking answers. Every patient deserves a thorough assessment and a clear explanation of what is happening in their body.

A compassionate, evidence-based approach
Dr Werner-Gibbings understands that PCS is a condition that has historically been dismissed or misattributed. He is committed to taking patients' symptoms seriously, providing a thorough diagnostic workup, and offering treatment options grounded in current evidence. Every patient receives a detailed explanation of their condition and the opportunity to ask questions before any decision is made.
Services offered
Ovarian vein embolisation

Pelvic vein embolisation
Targeted treatment of pelvic varicosities contributing to chronic pelvic pain, pressure, and associated symptoms.
Diagnostic imaging & consultation
Specialist assessment, imaging review, and diagnosis for patients with suspected PCS — including those who have not yet received a formal diagnosis.
